The Coru Internacional Matriarcal Antifascista Al Altu la Lleva will perform a version of Chicho Sánchez Ferlosio’s classic ‘A la huelga’ at the end of the march. It invites participants to join in.

There is time to rehearse it, but not much more. It is the strike hymn that, pure epic and also pure popular breath, will be sung this afternoon in the Plaza del Marqués de Gijón by one of the most peculiar formations of Asturias, the Coru Internacional Matriarcal Antifascista Al Altu La Lleva (International Anti-Fascist Matriarchal Anti-Fascist Choir Al Altu La Lleva). It will be their contribution to this intense day of 8M in Asturias, in a performance that will precede the reading of the manifestos, finishing off the demonstration that will start at 19.00 hours from the Humedal square; a march that is expected to be multitudinous, in view of the success of the concentrations of this noon in front of the Asturian town halls.
